Gosh Chris… I felt and still feel the exact same way!
I didn’t have the same Beautiful variety of people at the tiny Mahnomen County Courthouse where I was FINALLY able to cast my vote, but ‘My Peoples’ were on mind as I carefully colored in my little ovals… I felt a sense of calm that I have never felt before, once I did. Knowing that I had done my part within a flawed system was enough for me at that very moment. I drove back home, smiling, then frowning in worry, then smiling again, then wishing Love onto the world… Obviously, my own cynicism and injustice returns quickly enough, but even today, I am a little bit hopeful!
Dogs teach us much about living with Love eh?

Thankfully, Packer has never been interested in moving cars. It’s hard watching our dogs grown old; on the other hand, I’m so happy he’s still around!

Natasha~Thanks so much for reposting the link about Nickels! I have heard from quite a few folks who work with trauma survivors that this book helps them gain insight. Let me know what you think after you read it!

Aww, poor little Packer’s eyeballs and hurt feelings! Glad he rebounded so fully and lovingly.

Your book sounds excellent, I look forward to reading it, and I am about to post the Psychology Today article about it on my online Student Lounge (Yorkville University’s masters in counseling psychology program) as it seems like a must-read for any mental health professionals who work with trauma.

What a sweet dog Chris, even after being sprayed he did not bite the carrier,wow. I have a 15 year old dog Scooby who is obsessed with the UPS guy and truck. When he was younger he would run out into the street after the truck. There Scooby was in the middle of the street, just tearing after the truck barking up a storm. Now that he is old he doesn’t do that anymore and I kind of wish he did.
